Reuse, renew, refresh
Sat 28th Feb, 10am - 4pm
A free community event to reduce textile waste, held at the Heyfield Memorial Hall.
Clothing doesn't have to cost the earth! Australians send over 300,000 tonnes of clothing to landfill per year.
Come along to learn how to reduce your impact on the environment. There's a range of activities for all ages.
- Clothes swap. Bring 2-3 quality pieces to swap and go home with a new look!
- Learn how to re-size clothes that you've outgrown
- Turn old t-shirts into bath mats and dog toys
- Low-cost fabric and haberdashery for sale
- Learn how to unravel a knitted jumper and use the wool to make a new one
- Upcycled clothing displays
- Make clothes last longer with creative mending
- Interactive workshops with the Heyfield Happy Hookers crochet group and Maffra and District Landcare Network.
- Meet local community groups working to reduce textile waste
and more. Light snacks, tea and coffee available all day.
Thank you to the Wellington Shire Council for supporting this event.
